1. Pets must not be aggressive or have a tendency to bite others
2. Pets must be on a leash or in a container
3. Pets must be up to date on their shots (if appropriate)
4. Pets must be on a dewormer and antiflea/tick medication (if appropriate)
5. Pet parents must bring pooper scooper or similar potty accident clean up
6. Pets must be trained in simple commands such as sit, stay, lay down, heel.

Pet Friendly Philosophy:

Our pets are often considered not just a pet but a family member.  We cherish our pets like our "children" or "significant other".  We talk to our pets, love them, pet them, feed them, treat them, exercise them, cuddle with them, and even sleep with them. 

Our bond and connection to our pet(s) can be as significant if not more than our connection to our human counterparts. 

If we are going through a difficult time in our lives, our pets tend to help us calm down, offer a shoulder to cry on, help us cheer up, naturally lower our blood pressure, increase our bonding and feel good chemicals in our brain, help us to smile, and have fun. 

If our pet is sick or may be dying, the coping or grief/loss process can be overwhelming.  We grieve our pets just as we do our human counterparts.  We may hear from others that "it is only a dog" or "it is only a cat" which invalidates our experience and feelings. 

Dr. Lisa Breisch is trained both personally and professionally in pet assisted therapy and helping people through the loss of a pet.  Dr. Breisch is also a pet enthusiast and member of PETA and ASPCA.  She has had several dogs, cats, fish, iguanas, bunnies, a turtle, birds, frogs, hampsters, a duck, and a mole.  Dr. Breisch may also bring her trained Basset Hounds (Rosie, Hunter, and Laz) with her to the office to help children, teens, or adults to open up, share feelings, and feel safe. 

Animals that have visited us with their pet parents include dogs of all breeds, cats, bunnies, fish, and a turtle.  As long as the pet can be contained, we are open to you bringing them.
